83. Switching devices / transferring data (with PC on iOS)

There are several ways to transfer data between devices in ibis Paint.
Using Dropbox: data transferring on Dropbox is easy to understand. It can be done using a telephone line, but we recommend using WiFi especially if you have many works to transfer. The transfer is only for the artwork file.
Using SD card on Android: Copy artwork files over using an SD card. Both devices (i.e., device that contains the data and the device to be copied to) must run on Android.
Using PC on iOS: Copy artwork files using iTunes. Both devices (i.e., device that contains the data and the device to be copied to) must run on iOS.

Here, we will explain how to transfer files between iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) using PC (or Mac). Unlike Dropbox, this method allows the user to back up large numbers of artwork files (IPV), without using online connection.

First, please install iTunes on your PC, and run it. Then, using a USB cable (Lightning, etc.) to connect your device to your PC. Click on the①device button shown on the top.

Click on ①Apps tab.

Scrolling down to the lower right of the screen, there will be title that says ①File Sharing; from the Apps section, click on ②ibisPaint X. Afterwards, select multiple ③artwork files (IPV) you would like to backup. Selecting multiple files can be done by clicking while holding Ctrl key, or the Shift key.

If you scroll further down by placing the mouse outside the Apps section and the Documents section, you will see ① Save to ... button. Click on it to save the files on the PC. Alternatively, you can save on your PC by dragging and dropping multiple artwork files (IPV) onto the desktop.

To restore, connect the target device to the PC with a USB cable, then start iTunes, and click the device button> click on Apps> scroll down and click on ibisPaint X in the Apps section under File Sharing> further scroll down and click on ① Add file ... button.
